Spectrophotometers are devices for measuring the spectral dependence of the degree of absorption, transmission, optical density and concentration of solutions and substances by means of various types of electromagnetic radiation: visible, infrared, ultraviolet. The principle of operation of spectrophotometers is to compare two streams of optical radiation: incident on a sample and transmitted through the sample or reflected from it.
